At 84, Donna Mills defies aging! The Knots Landing star recently turned heads at the Farrah Fawcett Foundation 2025 Tex-Mex Fiesta in Dallas, Texas, alongside fellow icons Alana Stewart, Morgan Fairchild, and Jaclyn Smith. Donna, radiating youthful energy, stunned in a turquoise outfit with fringe detailing and a cinched waist. Her signature blonde hair and glamorous eye makeup completed the look, proving that age is truly just a number.
Donna's portrayal of the cunning Abby Fairgate on Knots Landing from 1980 to 1989 solidified her status as a remarkable talent. But did you know her career began much earlier? She made her film debut in 1967 with The Incident and starred in the soap opera Love Is a Many Splendored Thing for three years. Her big break came in 1971 when she starred opposite Clint Eastwood in Play Misty for Me.
So, what's her secret? In an interview with First For Women, the 84-year-old revealed her secrets to maintaining her youthful appearance. It's not magic, but a lifestyle! Donna emphasizes clean eating, admitting, "I love bread, I love dessert, I love ice cream and all those things, but carbs make me put on pounds, so I try to avoid them." She added, "As a dancer, eating protein was the way I had to eat." She also found inspiration in a Keto book, creating delicious low-sugar desserts. And this is the part most people miss... Hydration is key! She now understands the importance of staying hydrated for energy.
But here's where it gets controversial... Regarding her workout regimen, Donna told AARP that she plays tennis five times a week for two hours at a time. She's fortunate to have a clay court, which is easier on the joints. She also utilizes a home gym with light weights, a Peloton, and a ballet barre for stretching. Despite the occasional pain from arthritis, she emphasizes discipline and the "bigger picture."
And this is the part most people miss... In terms of skincare, Donna's message is simple: "The main thing is stay out of the [expletive] sun! It makes such a difference." She also avoids cosmetic enhancements, stating, "I'd rather have lines than a duck bill."
Donna still cherishes her Knots Landing family, especially Joan Van Ark and Michele Lee. "[We] are still dear friends 40 years after we starred in Knots Landing," she shared with AARP. They even reunite for fans, some of whom still embrace Abby's iconic dramatic eye makeup!
